Sometimes you just cannot win, Boris inspects P8

The fact it could well be a training flight, what next shock horror, Red Arrows fly to display for public.. plus he learns something about their capability should he need to use them in the future.

https://news.sky.com/story/raf-plane...-back-12545334

RAF plane flew hundreds of miles for Boris Johnson photoshoot before flying back

Images of the prime minister with two RAF aircraft featured on a number of newspaper front pages on Friday after his visit to RAF Waddington in Lincolnshire the previous day.

"Manufactured in the US city of Seattle, the aircraft arrived in the UK in November 2021 and has flown six times since then, according to Flightradar24.com, a flight tracking website." Political reporter writes rubbish defence story shock.

Yes, I think he's a buffoon. However, isn't the story:

US born Londoner Boris Johnson (57) saves UK taxpayers most of the expense of flying him and his entourage to the North of Scotland while enabling aircrew to gain additional experience flying a new ISTAR aircraft and personnel at the RAF's ISTAR hub to see its newest ISTAR asset for the first time.

As with the over enthusiasm of the Truss woman and her personal photographic entourage, (tinanced by the PUBLIC purse !), one could, justifiably, question just what benefit accrues from these near daily photo ops. One is only too well aware of the Worzel Gummidge-like physical appearance of the Buffoon, so no reminder is needed. Possibly, some reassurance that he is, or has been made, aware that there is a world beyond No 10, and its 'gatherings', could bind his witless supporters more closely to his nether regions, ... but what else ?
Professor Michael Lambert's observations on such 'self-aggrandisment sorties' offer a common-man's assessment.

Your political rantings belong in JB. It’s a PM’s responsibility to be properly briefed on the UK’s military capabilities from the operators who deliver it.

Video Mixdown - Absolutely correct. Every single Prime minster has visited military establishments and been briefed on capabilities and has been shown what the UK taxpayer is spending their money on. Quite rightly so and can you imagine the outcry if a Prime Minister didn't take any interest in the military. SLXOwft has it in a nutshell.

So a photo op is a full classified briefing now. Is the power point on his iPhone?
So we know how long he was there?

Photo Op = PM travelling around the country getting cheesy shots of himself looking nowhere near as powerful or credible as Putin

Classified Briefing = senior military officer travelling to No10 to give cabinet or senior ministers capability brief.

If he doesn't know the capabilities of his armed forces already, what is he doing posturing on the world stage making veiled threats to Vlad?

Photo shoots of State Leaders has always been a part of the public presentation since the first sepia images in the early-mid 19th Century. The furore in Scottish papers about the P-8 getting aloft and heading to Waddington and back, a number of operational/training/air test requirements could justify this I'm sure, is pure confected outrage to support the increasingly desperate arguments for Independence. If Nicola was able to call upon the very same service support for one of her public presentations, I'm sure the Scottish independence leaning elements of the media would characterize (spin) the event with a different approach. I really get more and more irritated with the blatant attempts by such people, in politics and the media etc, to carry on like this in the expectation that sufficient folk are simple enough and willing to be outraged enough to swallow all this.

Hmm ... this, I should point out , is the politician who, as Foreign Secretary (subsequently sacked), on a visit to Portugal was unaware of our alliance, whose failure to stick to his brief added 5 years to Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe's sentence, among other idiocies of office, and who, you seem to believe, is capable of pausing his self-admiratrion for long enough to absorb a technical brief on areas of service in which he has never been engaged !!
Optimism, like your hero's self-esteem , knows no bounds !

Be careful not to pick a fight with CJ. He enjoys some sort of protected status from the mods. If you argue with him you’ll find yourself banned.

To be fair the mods did me a favour when they banned me from JB after tussling with CJ since it was getting very boring anyway.

In the meantime just humour the old coot and accept that that he is one old dog that will never again learn any new tricks.

Or CJ might simply be right in this case..............anyone defending Boris nowadays is just delusional and you got exactly what you voted for.

Agreed, I apologise, but sadly JB appears to have been dragged over into the thread.

MPN11 - Unfortunately, for that, you have to read the quality discussions on exposed 'Brass' backsides or how the chaps enjoyed embarrassing their lady service opposite numbers - all jolly good banter, of course.
