QMP(A)/CPL HOURS CREDIT

AIUI the MAS details in CAP 804 (Reference Only) are still current. Where there is a shortfall in the 70 hrs PIC/Capt/PICUS etc leading to the MAS credit towards CPL(A) can this be effectively 'made up' (as it were) by now engaging in civilian flying to reach the magic 70 PIC to avail of the credit, or do all the hours have to be accrued during mil flying. Additionally, can Rotary and FW PIC be counted together in the total?

My understanding is that it is not a problem to combine mil and civ flying to reach the 70 hours PIC. However, you cannot use RW for this - it’s a FW requirement. I had well over 1000 hrs PIC RW and had to hours build FW PIC...

As always, check with the CAA as their guidance often changes. They’re pretty quiet right now as everyone is getting Irish licences...
