No?

To your other points, yes.
By that logic France is in the region as they've got jets there too. I'd suggest the dispersal of assets is more to do with the lack of real estate on the island. Calling it all one region is a bit deceptive, as the BPF found out in 1945.
What region is Singapore in - ASPAC
What region is Australia in - ASPAC
What region is Korea in - ASPAC
What region is Japan in - ASPAC
What region is France in - Europe

Surprised it needed explaining, but there you go.

Big region that - I was thinking a little more locally............... S E Asia for example....................

Singapore's armed forces are significantly better equipped than their near neighbours - but of course they have much bigger armies and a lot more real-estate to play with. I also suspect the Singaporeans would be quite good at the modern vogue for disruptive hacking of electronic systems & comms.

Japan is further away from Singapore than Ascension Island is from the UK so calling it the same region isn't particularly helpful.

Those aren't my classifications, ASPAC is the internationally recognised term for the region that is home to the nations listed. If it's so large you deem it 'not particularly helpful', you probably should have a word with the US Navy that recently expanded ASPAC to include the Indian Ocean also (see, INDOPACOM).

And yes, the distances are vast.

They're all 300-4500 kms away and not even the most gungho LM fan reckons an F-35 can make those distances. Plus I doubt the Singaporean's worry about them.

Their priorities are Malaysia, Indonesia and maybe Thailand - I don't think they want to get into a face-off with China
.
So how did they fly from the US to australia ?

Why is the RAAF spending 20 million to upgrade RAAF butterworth if the F-35 cant fly there

Indeed - I suspect the RMAF wouldn't be too happy for the RSAF to turn up with their F-35's without serious negotiation .............

On range we are of course talking two different things - ferrying aircraft from the USA to Australia or Australia to Malaysia is a bit different from combat radius.

The combat radius of the B model, as discussed on the relevant thread on PPrune, is circa 505 nm. That means they can't reach Jakarta or Phnom Penh by themselves.

They have 9 tankers (plus 2 more on order) so that stretches the envelope if they need to

"they will tell you which countries are a concern to them" - hmmmm I wonder who they might be...................

Tho TBH their neighbours may find them "irritating and smug" (not my words but heard elsewhere) but there is no mileage in starting any sort of trouble as instability affects everyone locally and thgey all know that
