Dutch F35 "foamed" by mistake
The arrival of a new (1st) F35 in the Netherlands was supposed to be a grand event with lots of spectators etc. As part of the festivities, a water canon salute was planeed. Instead, someone selected "Foam".

We had the same thing happen at MAN a few years back on the inaugural Virgin ATL service, which subsequently had to be cancelled - They've never done a water cannon salute at MAN since.

Good job the "spin" cycle wasn't selected...
Back when the 787 was first entering service, I saw several reports of APU issues caused by the water cannon salute hitting the APU inlet. And wasn't there an issue with an over-wing exit on an A320 due to the water cannon?
I wonder if this particular tradition may have past it's 'sell by' date...
