Top Gun 2
Apologies if this has been posted before, but this is an interesting YouTube video about the original movie.
Something I take some offense at is that they say “a” stunt pilot died during the filming of the movie, and there is a dedication to him near the end of the movie.
Art Scholl was not just “a” stunt pilot, he was an amazing aerobatic pilot.

Hollywood uses stunt men and stunt pilots as their normal jargon. The narrator seems to be a Hollywood type.
Hard to take offense. I admit to being amused at a few of the errors that the narrator made while he was pointing out errors.

Just seen it with the Missus. Both enjoyed it for what it was. Of course having met and handled USAF aircrew in between the dates of the films, I told the missus that the US aircrews are as professional and gentlemanly in most parts to ours.

Saw it last night.
Mega cheesy, brilliant aerial sequences and many little aviation references and details that were spot on.
Laughed out loud when Mav had to switch to guns.
Loved it.

Most people haven't picked up on the crew chief and two of the pilots having toned down left shoulder SR71 OL 8 HABU patches, pit viper on a striped background, just no name.

They even got the flickering plasma effect around the cockpit exterior right.. very clever.

Finally got to see it - a smidge of artistic licence but enjoyable. Not quite as memorable as seeing the original with all 4 flying sqns en-masse in the station cinema at Laarbruch but still fun.

Like the right stuff with Yeager at the last minute or Gagarin wondering where he was! (Actually he recognised he was in his home patch as was familiar with the area). The sketch was from the later.

Link to having actual Top Gun Instructors watching the film and laughing about fact and fiction. I found it enjoyable. Vincent has done stuff with people I know as well. Do enjoy his style.
as a quad amputee and without a head? Tom's pretty compact of stature, but losing both legs at the crotch strap, and then losing that bowling ball that holds his whimsical smile would make him about 2' tall...
Darkstar
Skunkworks helped with the movie prop and very convincing too

That sidekick of Maverick’s had a pretty impressive skill set: Test supervisor on a highly advanced Mach 10 black project, PTI overseeing press ups on the flight line and flight deck officer rigging the barrier for the F14. I bet he got fed up being posted every time Mav got into trouble though.
