OvertHawk - Thanks, yes I meant the soldiers were recommending and the civil servants were the problem! Got it wrong.


Just out of interest, when I got my Army wings in 1965 my flying pay was 3 guineas a week! (same as jumping pay!), what would that be worth today?

Using price inflation, that would be £57.08 Sir. Not a lot for a week .......

I left before this really became an issue for me but a lot of my former colleagues have been running around this buoy now for years with the way the AAC interpret flying pay vs the other 2 services.

It's a total shambles when 15 people have resigned citing this alone but it affects up to 50 people and the sum of money being recovered is less than 1 person doing a year of the Pilot's Course. I'm happy to see the Army sticking up for people and not remotely surprised to see the Civil Serpents sticking the knife in.
