SNCO Air Traffic Controller --> RAF
Hello everybody!
I was wondering what to do after I finish my last year of 6th Form and my A-Levels. As I like planes and adventure, etc. I had a look at the RAF roles and found the SNCO Air Traffic Controller role. First of all, I live in Spain but I am British (in fact, I have double nationality: British and Spanish). I could go to University as everybody does here, but I want something different and exiciting. I could also try at NATS, but I wouldn't be as proud of myself as I would be by serving for the RAF.
My question is simple: What are my chances of joining the RAF? (Knowing that I live in Spain). Am I chasing a dream impossible to archive?
Thanks for your answers!
Danny

You aren't definitely stuck but you'll have to ask them directly. Yours would probably be decided on an individual basis following some digging. But it definitely doesn't say no outright.

Does the Spanish Air Force not appeal? F18's and Typhoon if you fancy giving pilot a shot. I'll give you bit of insider info about the UK as well. There are two seasons, July and winter. I know what I would be doing in your place...

DanOh,
Welcome to the Happy Band of PPRuNe !
I'm well out of it now, but subject to the residence qualifications mentioned by Glevum, and if you get good "A" Level results, it might be worth while examining the possibility of a Short- Service Commission as an Air Traffic Controller.
I had ten years as a pilot, seventeen as an ATC, loved every minute of it.
