BBC says:
The pilot of a Hawker Hunter has been pulled from the burning wreckage of his plane when it came down at the Shoreham Airshow in West Sussex.
He is said to be recovering in hospital. It is not known if anyone else has been hurt.
Phew!

Is the local media suggesting a problem with the airframe in flight?

Major incident: Crash at Shoreham Airshow - Mid Sussex Times

I doubt that it will have received confirmation that the next of kin are already aware, either, before reporting a name.

I agree, Al. I have used their contact at the bottom of the page to urge them to remove the name. I suggest more people here do the same - lots of emails on the subject will be more difficult to ignore.

Unfortunately like all bad news, it's not just this rag that's peddling his name. Several of the nationals are now naming him and there's already interviews with others who were flying at the show.
