I quite like it, makes it look a bit tougher, a visual "Don't even think of messing with me!"

Very nice. The picture with the Spitfire could become a classic.

It has been around for a while i'm afraid - a bit of a late 'unveiling' RAF news-wise.

I don't know if it's true, but I read somewhere that the official unveiling had been embargoed while the political election campaigning was taking place.

'The Typhoon along with a WWII Spitfire, as part of a Synchro-pair, will perform aerial displays at air shows across the UK this summer.'

Well, for the sake of the Service's credibility, let's hope someone just photo-shopped the Typhoon/Hurricane synchro-pair for the press release!

Might have been nicer to have a Hurricane done up in Nicholson`s colours, and used as the synchro-pair this year......must be some paint left in the tins..

True ... But it could affect the radar 'wigglies' ... more correctly the return 'wigglies'

Also ... A black nose cone would in all probability cause heat gain (by absorption) ... Not a good move as far as avionics are concerned ...

Hangs head in shame. I don't know how I could have got that wrong. I guess I suffered a "craft" moment there. As in "Can't remember a f**king thing".

How very honest of you. You could have just cried 'Wah!' like so many before you and pretended you did it on purpose.
