Leather Wings/Name badge
Greetings all!
Does anyone have an up to date contact who manufactures leather name badge? Looking for the style that Aviation Leathercraft do but with a different brevet on.
Many thanks!

No unfortunately not. All of the US sites I've seen don't do uk mil brevets. Just wondering if any RN/Army pilots had found somewhere that makes them. Aviation Leathercraft will only make RAF ones

I purchased a blank badge from Aviation Leathercraft about 3 years ago and took it to Mr Bond the logbook binding bloke at Stoke sub Hamdon. He imprinted it with gold RN Pilot Wings and my name, just like does on logbooks.
The last I heard, when one of my colleagues tried to purchase some blank badges from Aviation Leathercraft they refused. It was due to something to do with their contract with RAF for jackets and not selling the badges to third parties. I didn't seem to make much sense.
The other option if it is RN wings you are after would be to purchase a metal pin badge from the Fleet Air Arm Museum or Ebay.

Find a pal who has access to Ft Rucker AL. The military tailor provides leather AAC wings with whatever name you want but here's the trick, you need to ask for Australian wings. I think it's because the Aussies have for years done their Blackhawk training there and it is lost on the Americans that their Australian Army Aviation wings are actually a copy of British Army Air Corps.

Cheers for the responses! I'll give Aviation Leathercraft a call tomorrow and see if I can get a blank badge. Failing that, I've emailed some non aviation Leathercraft shops to see if they could make a badge. Could anyone who has one explain how they fit to the jacket, is it a plastic clip?
Cheers!
Cheers!
The Aviation Leathercraft 'approved' badges are metal wings, and an embossed name in silver, on a piece of leather stuck in a plastic mount. A metal clip, riveted on to the back, fits into a slot on the jacket.
For the RAAF, we used to order leather wings/name badges from the US, Holick's of College Station, Texas. I would have thought that if they did RAAF wings, they would do RAF.

The originator isn't after RAF wings but those of the Fleet ( that's a laugh these days ) Air Arm or Teeny Weeny Airways commonly known as the Army Air Corp

Thanks for the replys and suggestions. It is indeed RN wings I'm after.
Spoke to Aviation Leathercraft and they declined to sell either a blank badge or even just the backing plate which was a shame. Looks like I'll have to try and get something custom made eventually!
If anyone stumbles across anywhere please give me a shout!

How about getting one made up with RAF wings by them, then change the wings on it?
