CAPT David Ramsay RAN Biography Notes PDF (ex-A4G/SHAR pilot)

Some RNers on this forum may have known Dave Ramsay when he was on exchange in UKland flying SHARs in late 1970s - early 1980s. Dave died a year ago whilst working for DFAT in Indonesia. Here is a PDF of updated biography notes made recently:

This photo did not make it into the PDF - will get there next edition. Dave is the white ensign bearer as the CCC Chief Cadet Captain of RANC in graduating year 1967. He joined as a Junior Entry in 1963 but repeated a year due illness. All this info in the PDF online including for youse UKers - LCDR Dave Ramsay was the first SHAR pilot to land/takeoff aboard HMS Illustrious 24 June 1984. [Royal] Navy News August 1984

The last guy we expected to lose from our pilots course, very fit and healthy. Also well liked and disturbingly good-looking ... for a sailor.

We missed him greatly from our 40th year graduation reunion last March. (His father was Commodore Sir James Ramsay, Governor of Queensland.)

It was a great joy to know, and work with, Dave. I'll post his grad photo (also in that PDF).

Mick Flynn went on to fly the A4G in his spare time. Bill Wilson was a mate from those RANC years also. BTW what pilot course number was it please. I do not have that info. My pilot course was No.67 graduating end of 1968. Thanks. RAN Navy News 08 Jun 1973 is the publication.
