US Troops in Britain

An interesting film on US troops guarding SA bases in the UK, c 1955. The commentary is glowing about 'England'; indeed i found it quite moving.

The UK PLOD might take notice of this change to Minnesota Police Procedures when dealing with Military Personnel and Veterans.

You might want to check out 'The Duffel Blog" before judging that story about Minnesota and Veterans. Some other articles from that august body include;

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel was awarded fifteen days restriction for taking the Pentagon’s duty van on an unauthorized late night beer run, according to officials.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A congressional investigation concluded this week, revealing a decades-long conspiracy by the United States Air Force to recruit and retain better-looking women than other branches of the U.S. military

GRAFENWÖHR, GERMANY – During a training deployment to the Grafenwöhr Training Area, a U.S. Army unit mistakenly invaded Germany, effectively re-igniting World War II, according to a spokesman for 7th Army Headquarters.

Although after this week's events the middle story probably isn't the joke it should be.
