What excellent shots, my favourite is the one with Dad being welcomed home by the kids... The way the little lad is patiently awaiting his turn.....

Though he may grow up with an inferiority complex only having one wing..

My apologies, I have none, having only ever wanted to be an Engineer

Some excellent photos in there but, as usual, the real interest is in some of the comments posted in response to the photos. Some people should never be allowed near a keyboard, me included probably...

The lad's only got one wing because that's what his Dad's got, so he'll grow up thinking that nothing else matters!

I have become addicted to reading the Comments sections - especially in the Maily Telegraph and the Daily Heil (can I say that?). I'm sure that many of the more controversial posters do so for a laugh - your 'typical' anti-war, pro-devolution/independence, anti-American lefty is unlikely to be a Telegraph or Mail affeciando. Equally, though, it was good to read a lot of very positive comments.

But yes, there should be a basic competency test before being allowed to post in a newspaper column (same goes for Arrse, as well).

Arrse would be a far, far duller place for the imposition.

My Dad had one wing. His advice to me was that if I was to ever join the RAF, I was to make damn sure that I had two! Good advice.

A gruff Master AEOp once told me that 'only panty liners need 2 wings to make a difference'.

Maybe so, but not a lot of call for AEOp's, Nav's, ALM's, etc once their RAF careers come to an end.. At least a pair of wings or Engineering background put you in line for continuing in the job. I used to be amazed at the hoops one would have to jump through to become an old RAF Air Eng, as a colleague did it, civilian wise it was a couple of weeks course to convert your licences to include it.

Note to self. Consider why I never felt inferior having spent my life flying fast jets in the back seat................................. There must be at least one reason.

I even wrote a book admitting the fact

Back on topic. Some absolutely brilliant photographs there. Kudos to the photogs
