Privacy Warning Red!

New software gives out your E-mail address, lookout those who use their own name in their E-Mail. If anyone knows how to turn it off, please tell. I guess I can do from now but any old posts will still have the information. Capt Pprune, what have you done to us? There will be mass Courts Martials and public floggings within the week!
Post script...Nope, I can not do it from the initial sending...unless I am being a computer thicky which is quite possible.

Thanks for that Sloppy, I always had you down as a chickenleg driver. At least I have now found out who Yellow and Black is, I can buy him that drink now.

You need to go into 'user cp' and edit your profile to not show your email address. Hope that helps m8.

Cheers Pal. I knew who you were anyway but I recall at some point putting something that caused a fuss not so long ago. Anonymity is a marvellous bravery tool.
Oggin, thanks for your concern, I was prepared for it with a name change once I had sorted it all out.

Exclamation

A software glitch in the importation script meant that after a while the setting "hide email address" for some users didn't get transferred over correctly.

For the moment I've turned off all visible email addresses. A mass emailing will go out informing people that if they want their email address to remain hidden they must go into the user control panel and turn it off.

At some point we will be turning "visible email addresses" back on.

Cool

And yeah, with that action a mighty Sigh of releif was heard throughout the Land of the Uniformed people, (and Hotmail was inundated by requests for anon. mail addresses!)

Thank you dispatcher...

Thanks dispatcher, we can now return to the normal sarcastic, bitter, inter service, different type, "they are better off than me", jealous, rumour mongering that we all perhaps spend more time complaining about as opposed to doing something about!

Post OWN GOAL

We were watching and yes we now have a little data base.

Yes it was a 'beadwindow' (we call it an own goal!) but thank you for the lead and who said that 'security was not a dirty word.

So simple lads and lasses. Please think before you type, not only on the content, but the aspects which may not be so obvious.

Happy Easter

SDC,

Yeah, Whatever chumpster!!!! We've seen how good the RAFP are at investigating and subsequently prosecuting cases!! The best I've seen is when I was told off for not using the zebra crossing outside the main gate!!

Read Between The Lines

Bigley,

I think you might be surprised at how good the RAFP are at investigating; however it does not make especially interesting reading (technical point, we do not prosecute cases we leave DLS to cock that up). That said, after investigating SDC, I concluded the following:

The post was written in a light-hearted way.

SDC only registered today and it was his first post.

It's a ‘bit of banter’ (note the date of the post).

Oh no! Look out everyone!
It's the Keystone Kops!

Do come along boys in errr, whitecaps? There's nothing to see here. Just alot of bored, whinging but above all intellectually humourous aircrew.
But I hear the perimeter fence behind BFI4 is really interesting this time of year.

Just "edited my profile" (only slightly painful) and the "hide e-mail" option defaulted to "no". Always worth checking then!

Anyone know wot Bigley did before he became the life and soul of the bar ?? Bigley, 10k in an unmarked navbag behind the portacabins or I'll spill the beans. Mate the Wet Lands will be a quieter place without you, thanks for the bad, mis-timed banter!!
