OT Homes For Our Troops

Article on BBC website about a charity in the USA that builds homes for injured veterans, nice to see such support, does anything similar happen here?

direct link to charity here

It would be good to see the large building companies here doing something similar, the positive advertising would more than cover their losses, and show the public that they value and support our armed forces.

I have had first hand experience of the EXCELLENT work of both the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Benevolent Trust and also the British Legion. My house was adapted for my needs and they also both purchased and converted a Mercedes Sprinter van for my special needs. No doubt the RAF also have a similar trust which would look after the needs of their injured personnel.

For those that are unable to look after themselves there are also the long term facilities

As you can see I cannot speak highly enough regarding the way I was treated and it was greatly appreciated by myself and my family

I too have benefited from a veterans support organization, this time The Royal Air Force Benefit Association. My thanks to them for their support.

I'm sure that the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund will appreciate the plug.

Now you know why I needed some help. Apologies to the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund.

I'm pretty certain that the National House Building Council still has many builder members who offer new home discounts to military families. You might want to contact them for a full update of who is doing what, and by how much. The discounts are probably not much more than you'd get if you really wanted to haggle, but a little knowledge might make life easier.
