Definitely got misty eyed, especially when the Kids came on at the end; they were immaculately turned out and delightful in demeanour. Their Dads would have been VERY proud. Some further thoughts:
The (now) ‘Single Mums’ show what can be done with limited means and set the standard for the ‘others’ - who prostitute that title for their own ends - to aspire to. Ladies, -phenomenally well done. You did your spouses respective Services proud.

Clarkson was absolutely right but missed an opportunity – could have done ‘a Lumley’ and publicly challenged the PM “to make it so”….

So that the fatherless offspring do not have to rely on Charity. Amazing how so much money is available from the State for wastrels in this country (and I include MPs in that), but those who deserve some cosseting get nowt.

Is there a PM petition running on that question? Is there an MP who might add weight to it?

Clarkson was right, and others here are absolutely on the money when they reference the shocking waste of public money on 'causes' (I do them too much credit with that epithet) which deserve nothing; it shames me to think my father fought a war for the country we're left with.

No, I don't read the Daily Mail. I just say what I believe to be true.

Well done to those featured last night, and all the others who escaped the spotlight!

Clarkson was spot on with his remark but I guess he didn't want to overshadow the event by making a political statement to the PM - that was not the aim of the evening; it was all about recognition for the people who had shown huge amounts of bravery and overcome extreme adversity.

It did that very well.
