Craving the Mods indulgence, but I didn't want to clog up the "Gaining a pilots brevet in WW2" thread.
Reg is finding things difficult at the moment following a biopsy on his hip, thus the need to get his Zimmer licence.
I know many people have enjoyed his contributions to that thread and may want to send messages of encouragement. No doubt he's sitting in his high rise overlooking Dover Harbour and enjoying the sunshine, but I'm sure he'll appreciate your messages as and when he gets to his computer. This way he doesn't have to respond to each good wish message, nor does his Inbox get filled.
Get well soon Reg!
If the Mods don't mind, I'd appreciate this being left in the Military Aircrew section so people can relate to it, otherwise I'll post a message on the original thread telling folks where to look.

I've enjoyed reading your contributions very much Thanks, a chum of mine has been through a similar thing, is well now and playing with his yacht again, but still keeps raving about the Nurses with a glazed expression !

Best wishes from a lifelong civvie (but WW2 aviation buff) - your stories have had me enthralled! By the way, if, about a week ago, you saw a Cessna do a turn from c.180 deg to c.270 deg over Dover harbour at about 1220Z, that was me!

Reg - I pass through Dover from time to time, and would love to drop in if you have the time and the energy (and we all know that you have more of that than most 30 year olds).

Just to let you guys know that Reg is undergoing treatment at the moment which is tiring him out.
I realise we are all missing our "fix" but please be patient, as he is having to be one himself!! lol! :-(
Thanks for all your goodwill messages, which he much appreciates. His email system is accepting incomings but his outgoings are a bit hit and miss at present as he gets spurious "undelivered" messages.

I've never had the pleasure of meeting Reg but have always enjoyed his posts and wish him well. I am sure that, like Reg, my father would have many more stories to add to this thread. (MODS can this be posted on the gaining a brevet thread at the same time?) He was RAFVR 1940-6 and after training in Canada was "creamed off" to become a QFI on Harvards aged 19. Afterwards he flew Hudsons, Whitleys, Stirlings and Dakotas.
Sadly my father who is now 87 is not well and is certainly not computer literate or else he might have joined PPruNe himself but I shall be seeing him tomorrow so maybe I could be his ghost-writer, not that my ability is anywhere near as our maestro Reg's! Interestingly, he only has begun to speak of his wartime experiences in the last couple of years - before then it was a "closed book" - even though, I had 10 years in the RAF myself and could relate to a lot of his experiences - including the loss of various friends in flying accidents.
I hope the attached photos come out - they are my first attempt at doing so on PPRuNe.

Looking at those pictures got me wondering when the "No smoking within 50' and no drinking within 8 hours" edicts came in?
Must admit I suffered the odd spoonerism moment and got the two mixed up - normally just after the hooter went for a TacEval . . . .
