Daily Express | UK News :: Hero,70, lands flyaway bomber-

And a quote, their spelling not mine

"The Victor bomber, simular to above, zooms into the air "

Well I suppose it does have wings and fings.........

This is the 789th "new" thread on the Victor incident that took place over five months ago, and was discussed on this thread on the Aviation Histeria and Neuralgia forum at the time.

One headline that I read said "World War II bomber in drama"

My memory must be going as I don't remember being in the Second World War at R.A.F Cottesmore in 1959 to 61.

You have to marvel at the quality of journalism these days. "A visitor accidentally hit the throttle" and "another visitor...grabbed the controls"

Incredible.

Got to hand it to the Express. All the news yesterday printed tomorrow.

So how come this story has just surfaced for the 789th time?

Because the CAA has announced, after an investigation, that they won't be taking action against the operators/crew of the aircraft. That's the new news. The rest is old news.

That's the new news

And very good news too.

My memory must be going as I don't remember being in the Second World War at R.A.F Cottesmore in 1959 to 61.

Sorry about your memory - just think of all those medals you could have slapped in for - if only you'd remembered!
