Southport Air show

Would just like to pass on my thanks for the display made by the RAF role display yesterday.
The sight of an E3 and a four ship of F3's and Gr4's plus two Hawks and an Apache and Chinook doing their stuff was superb.

TheTutor Tucano and Hawk displays were top notch as well.

The Typhoon display was excellent, and to cap it all off a display by Vulcan XH558, not bad for 7 quid.

Hi Dogwatch, which F3 were you piloting?

I went on Saturday and will second Dogwatch's comments (only one F3, though). Excellent display throughout by all participants.

Did that bloke in a glider do more than ten rolls while still attached to his aerotow yesterday? Barking!

I bet the Typhoon was a bit higher for his first return pass on Sunday, though - it had the punters on the pier ducking as he went past on Saturday!

Missed the Vulcan , but saw it in the distance as I drove up the M55 yesterday on the way back from a rifle match and my son videoed it on his mobile phone so I could listen to the sound!

Groundgripper,

The glider pilot broke his own record by performing 11 rolls. Quite a sight !

Loved it!

Second Dogwatch's comments!

The show was superb - Role demo was excellent, actually felt the heat when the explosions went off, my favourite the Typhoon was outstanding as expected, ditto the Chinnook. Many thanks to all who took part or made it happen, expecially in less than perfect conditions, but for me the unexpected highlight of the day was the Tutor! Superb handling, delightful display.

I made it down to the pier from mid-afternoon onwards myself.

Good to meet a few crews during the morning.

I thoroughly enjoyed myself at Southport!

I went on the Saturday, planning to see that day and that would be it. However, it was so spectacular, I decided to shun all my school work planned for Sunday, and came down to watch both days.

The XH558 was a excellent sight, you can never get bored of watching a Vulcan!

Yeah, thanks all round, a brilliant and successful show.

I led the Eng effort for some of the display participants based at Liverpool, and it's pleasing to hear so much positive feedback on the internet. The airport staff were great in their efforts to assist, and it was a pleasure to show dozens of them round our aircraft on Saturday and Sunday. Managed to keep the radios and wheels too...

Glad you enjoyed the result of our endeavours!
