Photos from Subic Bay August 2008
Hey all,
I just returned from Subic Bay / Cubi Point and took a bunch of pictures. I think I've done this correctly with the URL listed below. Most are taken at Cubi Point, as this is where I lived in between '69 and '71 and returned there in '89.
Unfortunately since the US moved out the place has fallen apart and there are a lot of Koreans buying up property but in general the place is a wreck. The BOQ is a school / dorm or some sort, the pool doesn't look like it's been cleaned in ages, the O-club bar with the carrier on the floor is housing for the laborers who are renovating the club, and the Rec center is a ballroom and restaurant. FedEx has a sort facility and the Subic Bay International Airport terminal is where the old Base Ops used to be. The E-club is a shell, though the big front doors are still there and would really make a nice souvenier with the carvings of the anchor and ship's wheel on them.
Enjoy.
Thanks,
Pete

Set them up on a free image-hosting site like Photobucket, etc.
The site will have an image link you can copy/paste into your post here (make sure it has a "bracketIMGbracket" in front and a "bracket/IMGbracket" in back
[] with IMG inside (and no spaces) in front of the address
[] with /IMG inside (and no spaces) after the address.
I would like to see them, to see how it differs from when I was stationed at Cubi Point in May/June 1984.
