Sands...Really great shots...I'm hoping to drive up to there from down here in Devon (about 250 miles) in the hope that I might manage to get the odd similar shot. I particularly like the last shot of the Hawk with the 208 Squadron blue and yellow arrow on the nose. I flew Hunters with 208 Squadron many years ago in Kenya and we introduced that particular squadron marking, but it had a Sphinx set in a circle as well like this:-

I would be pleased as punch to get one shot as good as any of yours...well done and nice tracking

Ok Mark, I'll comment.

Pretty amateur, with nothing new or interesting.

will that do?
The good antagonists out there are funny. The others are just c*ntwits.

Tourist is the latter.

Nice set of pics. Keep 'em coming.

Nice work, Sandds!

Care to share some tech info? Camera? Lens? Settings? Burst mode, continuous shooting, or <gulp> single shots? Just for us who aspire to get pics as good as yours.

Hi all.

Many thanks for the positive direction this thread has eventually taken and identified Tourist for what he is - no further comment on that subject - all I can say is that such negativity does this forum, or any other, no favours whatsoever and I know from experience that allowing such behaviour to continue just ruins the enjoyment for everybody and eventually you will drive all the togs elswhere, maybe the admins need to get a tighter grip!

I appreciate the pictures are a bit "run of the mill" but just look at the photo posted by petermcleland, at the time not a great picture with any significance - no criticism intended - but, records a piece of history. Who knows what will be captured in the future for posterity?

In answer to the last question the pics were taken with a Canon 30D, 70-200mm f2.8L lens with 1.4x TC in TV mode (1/1000 I think) ISO adjusted to ambient light to maintain speed, spot metering, high speed continuous in RAW format and edited in CS3

I'm tired now and off to bed to be ready for my proper job tomorrow .

Regards...

Sandds,
Don't be put off sharing your images. Normally poster 1.4g is first in on the attack. If he ever responds to an image thread then just ignore and don't get sucked into his questions on camera settings, etc.

Deliverance,
I belive that 'HT' is a Boscombe based aircraft. Probably has something to do with the winder fit?
