Cad East / West A day of two halves 24th June

Hi all, having not posted for a while I thought I'd share these.

Well here's the first, I'd got myself down to Wales and up onto Cad-East (I will drive up next time, I promise lungs :yuk:) and having seen the weather Hawk go through the thick side of inverted as I parked up, I thought - Oh yes, the boys are up for it, however a couple of hours went by before things started to move and then happy hour started :D .

1 solo Hawk followed by 3 pairs between 10 and 11 - very nice.

Here's the pics, I decided to spare you the "belly pics" cos they don't do much for me either but I did manage a pair in a frame - a first - woo hoo!

Now I nearly lost "tail end charlie" which sneaked around the back, but he made a great picture and a wave

The day continues in the next post.

So onto the second half.

At 12ish I made my way across the valley onto Cad West, things were pretty slow for another couple of hours until I heard those three magic words bellowed (DEFINATELY NOT, I LOVE YOU!) but thankfully "IT'S A TONKA"

Again here's the pics;

Not quite as it appeared, just a levels adjustment - but I like it

Back to "as taken"

Not long afterwards I spotted the exhaust trails of this one speeding through Bala :D.

And another cheeky wave to finish from the Hawk which turned up right on schedule as we prepared to walk off the hill, what a grand day out :ok:.

Hope you enjoy.

Well I think their a great set of shots :ok:

Pitty others are too up themselves to even comment.

Mark

Tourist 28th Jun 2008 09:16

Ok Mark, I'll comment.

Pretty amateur, with nothing new or interesting.

will that do?

markjayne 28th Jun 2008 09:21

Very mature of you.

Sandds 28th Jun 2008 10:07

Hi Mark.

Thanks for the reply, I was beginning to think with nearly 500 views and no comments there was something seriously wrong with my images, but disappointed nobody told me so .

Hi Tourist.

For your information I am an amateur and take no renumeration for my hobby as a photographer - not plane spotter - I decided to post my work on this forum for the benefit of the aircrews who provide me with subjects to capture, great entertainment and serve my country with such professionalism.

Should any of them require a record of their sorties which I have been privileged to witness then I will be happy to supply them with pictures.

If you consider them to be "nothing new or interesting" then please show me some of your work which I can aspire to or keep your  negative comments to yourself!

Regards...

Great shots, as for Tourist:

Pretty amateur, with nothing new or interesting
What do you do, because i'm sure a lot of us would find it amateur but would be polite enouigh not to say it - personally I wish I could take pictures like this.

Keep em coming.

Mark

You really are an odious little tw@t

Loved the very shiney tornado and I guess the F3 was on its way to/from Aberporth?

betty swallox 28th Jun 2008 10:57

Guys. They are great shots, amateur or professional. Stop being a bunch of t*ts. These photographers do loads for our PR. Don't knock 'em. As a serving chap I thank any help we can get, as the forces are rarely on the general publics' christmas card list

markjayne 28th Jun 2008 10:57

@Flap...

Oh dear dear, I've obviously brought out one of them "up themselves" guy's.

Again a very mature response from what I can only consider a wannabe.

Mark

P.S. Keep it up Steve

Flap62 28th Jun 2008 11:14

Mark

my sincere apologies.

My initial comment was aimed at Tourist but my blinding hangover got in the way and I mis-identified.

Tourist 28th Jun 2008 14:04

I would have kept my comments to myself, but then there was the suggestion that to do so was "up myself", and not wanting to offend........

May I just say how much I have enjoyed the misdirected abuse though.
Thank you:p

Cad East/West photos

Sandds and his fellow airplane photographers deserve kudos just for making the trek up the hill sides and waiting there for hours on the off chance they will get a few seconds of exhilaration AND be willing to share them with the rest of us chair-bound enthusiasts.

AARON O'DICKYDIDO 28th Jun 2008 19:04

Great Shots.

Forget Tourist, He Is A To$$er.

Dram 28th Jun 2008 19:12

More Photos most welcome :ok:

Dunhovrin 28th Jun 2008 20:56

Great shots.

What makes me laugh and also chills me to the bone is the fact that matey boy in the back has the time to give you a wave whilst Bloggs in the front is working his proverbials off on either a chop ride or one trip away from a chop ride. And I never even got that far.

Do the SARTU boys still go up to the sloping lake? And is it accessible a pied?
