New RAF base
Engineers from a previously undisclosed RAF base have been assembling a Typhoon museum exhibit.

Two unknown bases, surely - where's Conningsby? Anywhere near Coningsby?
Be fair though - you can't expect the supposed voice of the RAF to spell the names of airbases correctly...
Engineers from RAF Conningsby and RAF St Athens assembled the aircraft

Jeez,
Words fail me. OK there are typos and there are typos, but this does appear to take the biscuit........
Basics chaps, BASICS
Must be a reflection on the EDUCATION, EDUCATION, EDUCATION that was trumpeted all those years ago.

If an Engineer is expected to have those BASIC spelling skills, then surely a 'professional' journalist should have them.
Although to be fair, we are all human, and we can all make these mistakes, occasioanlly. This is a new editorial team, with teething problems, in a new unfamiliar situation etc. Although, if professional, it shouldn't happen at all, it is understandable. If this is happening three months down the line then, and only then, may I consider cancelling my subscription!
(Feel free to rip my grammer and spelling apart, I am an Engineer and I probably lack those basic skills mentioned above, although I do not claim to be a professional journalist!)
(As if you need an invetation anyway.)

No.
No I don't.
No I don't.
The term 'base' (taken from that rounders type game the colonials play) is a term which unfortunately is creeping into usage throughout out own Armed Forces.

Au contraire, Mr 27mm.
The PC police would probably say it's offensive to suggest that the word 'camp' is un-PC.
Who makes up PC guidelines anyway? I always imagine it to be a panel similar to the Eggheads. It's probably the least productive department in all of government (and that's really saying something), because they'll all be worried about offending each other with their suggestions.

Well your efforts are not in vain Harrogate, I note that the spelling has been corrected.
While we aren't on the subject, what is this "standing up" of squadrons nonsense?

I see the page on the website has a link to the New Years Honours List 2007.
Now would that be the New Year's Eve Honours List of 31 Dec 2007 or the New Year's Honours list of 13 months ago?
