Lyneham Pics

Having spent the last 25 years watching C-130s going over my house I try and grab a few photos on the way to my place of work when they are flying. I snapped these this morning. I understand the 130 fleet is stretched and this is just a thank you for the great job they have done and continue to do and hope these are of interest.

Great pics!
Mk1s/3As doing what they've always done with fewer frames.
Mk3s trawling round the world and being retired at an alarming rate.
Mk4s on Ops.
That just leaves the Mk5s for the photo call!

Rhino, thank you for your kind words. Sometimes it can feel as if you are banging your head against a brick wall...

But comments like that make the difference. So thanks on behalf of all those at LYE. Oh, and thanks for putting up with the engine runs at 3 A.M. and the NVG circuit training at an ungodly hour. Believe me, all the training that we can get helps in the sandy place.

As an ex Eng ops controller I can only back up the comments. These boys, and the air/eng ops crews, work their B*llocks off to make sure that the a/c are prepared. Many thanks should go to the local people for putting up with the EGRs/Morning departures.

We can only do this with them.

As an ex Training Co-ord I concur with Truck2005.

My posting in LYE Ops was the best.

Good luck and safe flying to all the folks there.

As an ex Lyneham Air Trafficker, it's nice to see these boys are given some recognition.
