Blair in Iraq

So we obviously didn't get enough money in the whip round! Mortars dropped on him in Baghdad and Basrah and the slimey still didn't get it. Also it was nice to see that on his visit the lunchtime news showed him shaking hands and making nice with all those lovely.....US troops out there!!! Do you think if we start a second collection quick we could get enough to drop a large one on him as GB kicks him out of number 10???

Sorry H5N1, I think you are out of line to hope for ANYBODY to be hit by IDF.
You should also bear in mind that there is a Coalition working in Iraq, so meeting US personnel is no great surprise. When Clinton went to Kosovo he met Brits too....
When I met TB in the British Embassy in Baghdad, everybody else there wanted to meet him too. Fair play on him for exposing himself to the risks of RPGs and IDF, even if it was for a few hours. The most senior US figure to visit the IZ was Rumsfeld...so our PM has shown for the third time he is not opposed to seeing the picture at close hand.

I wouldn't want him dead, just maybe a short stay in hospital.
Seriously though what if he was injured out there, do you think he would get the same shabby treatment? would he he be brought back and put on a mixed ward in Birmingham with anti war protestors? would he be told to change his clothes for fear of offending someone?
If he died would Cherie and the kids have to wait months maybe even years for the coroner to finish his report? hmm I think I know the answer to those few teasers.
Anton you say that previously when in Baghdad everyone wanted to meet him, well hand on heart I would too! but not to shake his hand and talk **** like the rest of you snivelling sychophants but to ask him what the hell was he thinking about when he lept into George W's bed and got us into this deep quagmire?

toddbabe - I feel a little stronger than you. Having lied his way to a body count of almost 150 brave souls to raise his international profile and cosy up to dubya, I see know reason why he should be special.
Anton- are you a member of the military?

Anton,

I appreciate my words may have seemed harsh, I do not and never would wish harm on anyone of our hard working, self sacrificing troops out there. All I hope is that his family felt 5 minutes of the angst that my husband and family do every time I, and thousands like me(and I'm about to do my 3rd tour there in 3 years) feel for the whole 4-6months we're away.

I don't wish to seem too harsh....

...however, Bliar's premature demise would not seem inappropriate.

I don't particularly wish to enter into the macabre exercise of counting the bodies of those who have died to perpertuate his legacy, particularly as there are another 6 weeks to go. Nevertheless, if we look back to September, his continued grasping at office has cost numerous lives, in the vain perpetuation of the notion of a legacy.

If I met the evil sod in person, my hands would have to be prised from his choking neck. I know at least one person of my acquaintance who perished in his needless war.
