RAF manpower figures
I heard a rumour (this is a rumour site after all) that with the introduction of JPA and loss of SAMA, the RAF no longer had visibility of what its' total manpower is! I have heard tales of at least one front line Stn Cdr asking for monthly manpower statistics from all the units on his base so he can keep track of his manpower. I also understand there are no accurate PVR/loss rate figures available because of lack of visibility within JPA, and the initial non functioning of the JPA PVR function.

would seem to imply I am correct, as there is a footnote (p) to the 1 March 2007 figures which states
'.....p denotes provisional. Due to the introduction of a new Personnel Administration System for Naval Service and RAF, all Naval Service Data from 1st November 2006 and all RAF data from 1st May 2006 are provisional and subject to review.....'
Can anyone provide any more information?

I know the particular Branch & Trade Sponsors I have the pleasure of working with have a very tight grip of their respective areas. They have accurate figures at their fingertips. Collectively, as a whole for the RAF? I'd doubt it at that level

Recent Defence question in Hansard for this month gave JPA as a reason for not being able to provide comparable figures for manning and location. Strangely enough before JPA the figures were all available to be tabulated.
