AFPS 05 Pension
Currently in dispute with AFPAA about the offer to transfer to the new pension scheme that was made to me. Expect I may have to look for legal help. Does anyone have details of a legal bod that specialises in pension disputes? Any help much appreciated.

Just wondering if you had any joy with your request for information on AFPS 05 and legal assistance. I've recently changed to the 'senior service' version of PAS and am on AFPS 75. When we had to switched it was by far the better option. Obviously now it isn't!! I've heard of some of our slicked back colleagues who've left the service and rejoined within a pay period (30 days) and are then able to take on the new 05 benefits. Any truth out there?

I have an e-mail on my system from the Junior Service stating that if I were to transfer from my existing Service, if the period of transition is between 1 and 30 days, I have the option to remain on 75 or change to 05, however after that I have to go onto 05. Ironic that by being disloyal to your own service, you can transfer to a better scheme but by remaining with your existing service, you can't. Not to worry, they'll sort it out.......won't they?

Thread drift, but Humberside police have an interesting version.
After 30 years you leave the police and qualify for your pension. After one day you rejoin. You are now back on full play plus pension. Whereas in the services, once you reach that magic pension point, say 38, your pay automatically drops about £20k compared with yr 37 year old colleague.
Anyway the police one came to light when it was realised they had not been sworn in so were not real police.
Now if that had been JPA they would have claimed back all the pay since you hadn't signed on again.
Why cant the services give a signing on bounty?

A flick through the 'Chief Executive's' 
latest AFPAA annual report will tell you that it railroaded JPA through to a timetable and that only now is it trying to reign in EDS. The performance indicators make good reading.
There is some stuff about pensions HTQFI, good luck. I'm glad that my pension isn't administrated by these idi.. sh#t, it is.
