It's working ok .....

"We would be perfectly happy to leave in three years and without firing one shot because our job is to protect the reconstruction," the minister said at the time.
Well he got that bit wrong ..... that's for sure ....

If memory serves, by the time I left theatre in Sept, it was pushing towards 400,000 shots fired. And that didn't include the heavy stuff.

Makes you want to join up all over again. Wish I was 18 again and on the train going down to Lympstone for the first time.

Want to say something but for once I'm lost for words. I'l settle for stay safe lads.

PS with all the talk of some NATO nations not stepping up to the mark I see the FAF at least are in the thick of it. That was a M2000 wazzing through on CAS, wasn't it? Ack the GR7 introducing someone to a PW. And was the A-10 using the gun or was that cluster? And the Apache with CVR/gun.

I wish my computer at work would play those videos - it'd give me something very fitting to show the resident whinger when he starts huffing at doing piss easy jobs. Heartfelt respect to all the guys and girls who are out there, doing a bloody hard job day and night.
If only we could get all these videos together and show them in cinemas and on tv up and down the country - remind Joe Public where his tax is going to and the excellent work that's going on. It'd probably help the recruitment problems too...

Fully support the comments made by tonkatechie regarding 'resident whingers' and 'piss easy jobs'. Saw the following video at Shrivenham a couple of weeks ago; very humbling and kept a room of 30 quiet for a moment or two.

Every man is a hero in this clip but little is said of the Chinhook crew that re-supply right in the thick of it. Brave stuff, well done.
