Flying Pay

I was just wondering how flying pay is calculated in the Royal Navy: The only information that I can find is that it is between £4,577 and £14,530 a year. Is it based purely on flying time, or does the amount increase per year with experience? And does the amount vary between pilot and observer?

Thank you,

Tony
