Anoraks Alert
Very smart RNZAF in the circuit at a secret Typhoon base somewhere in the heart of Lincolnshire today. Should be a good one for the spotters and I did not see one.
Guess there will be a rare selection of jets this weekend.

I've just been past Brize Norton and both RNZAF 757's are parked up on the apron near the Tristars. Bloody typical though, as soon as I was on the drive home the Polet Airways AN-124 was on final approach!

Can it still be called an air 'Force' now that it more resembles an airline? IIRC I have a pic somewhere of a Vulcan of the RNZAF - or at least so it appears to the bemused chief after a particularly successful zap!
I don't own this space under my name. I should have leased it while I still could
Almost caused a diplomatic incident as IIRC it actually flew back to Akrotiri in the markings of a different state - false colours and all that.

Just for you Pontius!

....and...on the "Kiwis can fly" theme, I note yet another has joined the Red Arrows, thus continuing a long tradition of New Zealand influence.......
wanders of musing if there has ever been an Aussie been there and done that......
That's a superb shot of the 757 and Typhoons, is there a link I can use?

Of course copyright resides with the owner which, in this case, is probably thatch
Kiwis et alia
Triggered by the piccy in item 6 (PR9??) and all the other chat re Kiwis over here; does anyone have a lead to John Hill who shared a flight with me South Cerney May 1963 who went on to fly PR9s in Malta (13Sqn?) and left to fly civvy back in NZ? (Too many subordinate clauses perhaps?)

Rossian, It's actually an RNZAF B12, flown on its last flight to storage for collection by the Indian Air Force. Pilot was one Gavin Trethewey, late of Air New Zealand, and now on the NZ warbird circuit with his own Harvard I think!
If you can provide a bit more detail on John Hill I'll see what I can do!
