Reds over Lancashire

Just saw the Reds flying into Blackpool and was, once again, struck by their immaculate diamond nine against a clear blue sky. Nice work, chaps.

Saw them over EGDL yesterday in formation with a VC10 with what looked like RED 10 flying high and wide off the port side of the formation.

I have to say that it looked v impressive. Well done.

In that case I'd just like to say "Thanks" to the four Jaguar guys who flew over my house (south Essex) at 15:56 yesterday, heading for the Victory celebrations in London no doubt. Loud & low - just the way it should be.

Thanks chaps

On the top bunk

The thread title is obvious, so why not just ignore it if it doesn't float your boat.

OTTB,

Shippers, give it a rest. This sort of thread at least balances out some of the negative posts that the reds have been getting on here lately.

So I'd best not post about the Harrier (believe it was Harrier - didn't have a chance to get my I Spy book out, as I was driving at the time ) that went northbound low level up Loch Linnhe just south of Fort William on Mon 4 Jul 05 at around 1430 local.

Or the Harrier pair that were doing low level pairs (jinking around the valley) along the valley eastbound from Kyle of Lochalsh at 1700 local on Wed 6 Jul 05.

Brightened up a routine work trip for me - but I'd best not mention it for fear of annoying anyone!!

Did anyone see them over London last wednesday for the Olympic Bid winning celebrations? My vote is that they should have carried on all the way over Paris afterwards......

having been lucky enough to get a backseat ride during a display those boys do not really fly the aircraft, they just use the force.

'Hair today, gone tomorrow' - or perhaps 'gone today, hair tomorrow'? Either way, makes for a great hairshow.

An edited piece from last weeks Manchester Evening News. Seems Red 10 decided to pay a visit to his old school at Parrs Wood--Didsbury last week--at about 500ft and with the rest of the team in tow ! --the school also got the kids to form a "Red Arrow" on the ground. As a piece of PR--priceless!!. Whether the other objective--to stimulate the kids as to a career in the Mil ( assumes we still have an Air Force in the future of course !--) only time will tell--but it may well have stimulated them to think about aviation as a career anyway.

I wouldn't normally post this next bit--however. Yesterday, I had a day in Glasgow--heading south on the M6 my day improved about 200%--my thanks to the Jag driver who would have crossed Tebay Services at about 1613hrs--a camera would have been nice as he came round the hills heading North just before the services with about 70degs of bank and "travelling".
Just a nice reminder of past days.
