RN Fixed Wing Observers

Hi all,

Just thought I'd be a little nostalgic today with this post. Have read numerous books and topics on here about life in the RN/FAA as Aircrew. One thing that is never really discussed is that of life as an RN Fixed Wing Observer.

Really intrigued as to whether life in days long gone by as an RN Ob flying Buccs, Gannets or F-4's was/is any different than that of RAF Navs??? If so, what was it like in the good old days of RN Aviation???

Feel free to fill the huge void of info about RN Obs of the past that too flew at 600+ kts along side their RAF Counterparts........
