I have had time to look at this but I am useless when it comes to jargon etc.
1 - If you have an exit date prior to 31 Mar 08 then you will not be made redundant. Nor will you be offered assimilation ( I guess that is unlikely this year or for the forseeable future.) Therefore you will be required to leave at your exit point. (Has anyone been offered PA? recently)
2 - A reverse promotion board ? Guess for ME Pilots that means if you do not get offered Captaincy/CFS at end of Co Pilots tour then start looking for a job. Also if you were automatically given PA from Spec Aircrew then dont rest on your laurels either.
So in 2008/9, just who is going to be left in ?
1- All the real experience that is left will have to retire at exit points.
2- Any current Captain with an exit beyond 31 Mar 08 or the creme of todays Co-pilots.

Annex D
Annex D, Para 5 To be completed where the applicant wishes to make a statement.
I wish to place the following factors before the Redundancy Selection Board when my case is considered:
Any thoughts, apart from 'please, please, please!'? Or you're all a bunch of tankers and I don't want to work for you any more.
Or I'm changing my name to Deardrie and having the op, ah, that one doesn't work any more.

I have posted on this subject before, more than once I think; the following is most recent:
Redundancy Procedures
Special cases were, IIRC, weeded by pre-boarding, but they required to show genuine need. Some examples included availability of local care for children with special needs, converted houses to support same. Jobs to go to weren't especially important.
I seem to recall at the time that there was some resistance to these 'special cases', though. Essentially, the argument went that any special case worthy of consideration could have been dealt with by the individual seeking an exit beforehand (by PVR for example), and that these people were, in some cases, simply taking advantage of the redundancy payments being offered.
