RAF FRIS For '04 - In or Out?

I have been waiting for news on FRIs - anyone know if they are in or out and how much? Need facts, not guesswork - hard to find out from my present location!

Pylot,

This topic was covered recently, see the following threads:

As far as I know FRI's remain as originally announced at the moment. The next planned review is as part of the overall flying pay review for AFPRB Report 2005.

Anything could happen in the next few months - given all that is being considered. So, IMHO, no-one will be able to give you a definitive guaranteed answer, unless you are lucky enough to be due to get the money in the very very near future.

Pylot

Speak to your desk officer, mine was more than happy to defer my 38 point decision for 3 months.

The FRI at 38 is still 50K - although it might change by the time you actually get it. (ie on your 38th birthday). So, if your 38th birthday is before 1 april next year you should be ok - after that, anyone's guess!

As far as I know the actual figure is reviewd every April. The need for the scheme will be reviewed by the next AFPRB report.

Still, that's assuming that Mr B liar and mr 8 jags leave us an Air Force!!

I think you will find that Pylot is approaching the 30K FRI point, I believe that is 11/33 yr point, although I must admit to being too old to take much interest!

Vage Rot, you are lucky to have a 38 point decision to make, I heard it from a friend who heard it from a friend at Binnsworth that there isn't even going to be an 'assimilation board' (or whatever it is called these days1) sitting this year!
