Arbie

Notwithstanding the regular Pprune J/K bunfest the Navvia are indeed developing the K as a nav friendly platform. In terms of good multi jobs for Navs I think the K has a lot to offer. Lots of toys for you to play with and the Herc does actually go off and do "stuff". In terms of jobs for navs, the J is crap

If you were to believe the bitching that goes on on here you'd think Lyneham was a hotbed of drive-by killings and kneecappings. It isn't and the vast majority of us are happy doing what we do. The politics of the Herc force do make me weep with despair at times but at the end of the day I don't get paid extra to worry about these things so tend not to bother.

Go take a look - you'll probably like it

PS. we on the J fleet do like giggling at the K boys being all warry though. Remember, if you do go Hercs - don't believe all the hype

'I've heard word on the grapevine that the Herc fleet is looking for some fresh young navigator types for the K. Anyone got anything further'

Yes we are.

Currently taking re-roles and ab-initio WSOs.

Either PM or go official to Lye and we will give more info/arrange visit.

Let's face it guys and gals,

K vs. J;
Northside vs. Southside;
Routecraft vs. TAC

Call it what you want, there will always be inter-sqn/ac/role rivalry and banter.

There is one thing (I think) that us Lyneham bods are all agreed on:

'Team' Lyneham is no more!

Ah but we shall once more reign united under one banner as soon as the morale boosting Lyneham Radio starts broadcasting from a small trawler in the fishing lake in the undershoot to 24 (the runway......)

On glorious AM of course. Go-ood Mooo-ooorrning Wiltshire

Much as I enjoy many of your posts, try not to generalise on behalf of an entire fleet. Your impression of what the Ks do (hype) is very poorly placed based on your previous tours.

I'll expect a kneecapping then....?

Talking AeroB

Drive by shooting more like

Notwithstanding my previous, meagre experience I'm more than aware of the things that the K gets up to and more power their elbows; it's all splendid stuff.
Years of route-queenery with only a bit of LL penguin scaring doesn't automatically make one a total tactical numpty I'd almost go so far as to suggest that too much knowledge can be a dangerous thing.

The "warry" quote refers to ongoing ops, discussion of which is perhaps outside the scope of this forum. Far be it from me to generalise on behalf of entire fleet however it does make most of us titter

I'm off to load up and come and sort you beeatches out....

Oh, and the "hype" refers not to the job but to mindset of some of those carrying it out.
I tend to find that those actually doing the groovy, operational stuff tend not to be too warry about it all. Those that aren't, do. Merely an observation....

Personally I can't wait to listen to Mike Smash and Dave Nice:
'...And a big Hello to all you Truckies out there...Let's ROCK!'

I'll bet it has a better reception than 'Artichoke LW' at the very least!

Arbie,

If you "want to go down route" then I suggest you join the J fleet or BA cos the KKKKlassic only does TacAT (giant bolloxs) stuff. (yawn). Para is so much the way ahead.
