Is emirates still hiring NTR FO's ?
I am a captain on EMB-145.

Advice to those asking to be spoon fed answers without even bothering to search the thread...
Stay home.
Really.
You'll probably never make it in the Middle East ...or any other expat flying gig for that matter.

Or....

...do some digging, show some extraordinary effort (because expat jobs are extraordinary, NOT ordinary), ask informed questions, and guys will help you with your climb

Is it possible to defer offered type rating start to a later date or is it a take it or leave it?

gehenna 1st October 2025 00:04

Some years ago I deferred my start date twice. The only comment I had from EK was that if I could not join within a year of passing the interview, I would need to apply again. Needless to say I joined within the year, as I could not fool them twice!!

Times change, so I suggest you contact the recruitment team, or whoever you are in contact with. Good luck! I had a great time there.

Just received the dreaded "try again in 12 months" e-mail after 'successfully' passing sim + medical. So it definitely happens!

Ouch! Sorry to hear that. I know many people personally who have been getting calls recently informing them that there were no available start dates for the foreseeable future.

I wonder if they simply have too many candidates in the pipeline now and are flat out rejecting even successful ones.

but for those who have already received their start date, they will hopefully stick to it.

They are doing roadshows. What’s the point of doing that then?

enzino 12th October 2025 19:16

I beg you pardon if my question may sound daft, but I am not familiar with long haul and reinforced crew ops. The Accelerated Command job advert states that to be considered for the command evaluation one needs to fly in EK a minimum of 700 stick hours. Is the definition of stick hours only hours as PF or as active crew member (PF and PM) and doesn't consider bunk time?

Does the EBT module that happens to be part of the operator conversion course before line training count towards the requirements of 2 EBT modules?

Hi everyone,

Just wondering if anyone has heard any news about Emirates bringing back the Non-Type Rated recruitment process?

I’ve seen some mentions of their new training facility being opened or expanded, and I’m curious if that might help them start taking non-type rated pilots again.

Also, for anyone who passed all the NTR selection stages before the programme was paused — does your application still show “Flight Crew Community” on the Emirates careers website, or has it been completely removed?

Would really appreciate any updates or insight from anyone who’s been in touch with recruitment or has heard anything recent.

Did your application on the portal say “DXB assessment day 2” or “final validation” before you received your negative email. Mine seems to be stuck in DXB assessment day 2 even though its been 2 weeks since my assessment in dxb.

I see they are not longer re recruiting accelerates command on the boeing fleet. Does anyone have any insight on if they are likely to offer this again soonish?

richardstroker 25th October 2025 04:27

"DXB Assessment day 2" to "Flight Crew Community" to then receiving the email.

This has been attributed to aircraft delivery delays from Boeing (as was shared at a roadshow). At present, they mentioned there was no timeline on when it will once again be offered.

Hi guys,

I have received negative news “ try again after 12 months” for quite a while and my cooling off period is coming to an end. But I heard the compass and sim results only valid for 12 months, by the time, I finish my cooling off period, my result will be expired. Does anyone know if we can schedule the re test for dubai assessment 1 2 months in advance? The informed me I only need to re do my sim.

Thank you,

Your query sounds a lot like something you should ask Recruitment directly.

By the way, how long did you wait until they broke the news?

Thank you,

I don’t think it works like that. After 12 months, you submit a new application and Emirates will decide if they want to interview you again. You just can’t ring up and book a re test.

Emirates will decide if they want to interview you again, based on other applications they have on file at the time. It’s not guaranteed you will get another interview.
