The Emirates HR machine is a joke. Interviewed a few years back in 15, was a Captain on a private Global Express, 4000 hours, got through pre interview in Brisbane, interview in Dubai and GCAA medical. 6 weeks later after 1 unreturned email to my recruiter and interviewer (who told me to email them if I didn’t hear anything after 4 weeks) got an hr email saying I no longer met the minimum requirements of flight time as they had recently changed. A few others around same time in the same boat... Perhaps they should comb through their previous applications with similar stories...mind you, happily flying a bus at home with 15 days off a month/50-65 hours and good roster bid satisfaction :) |
How long before EK has to offer commuting contract to regain some appeal compared to Asian carriers, as let’s face it, there is only so much money you can throw at pilots before it stops being a factor? |

Finally the secondment from the national carrier is signed. |
Is it for three years?
|
2 years upon completion of line training.
|
Does anyone have an update on how many aircraft of each type are currently parked?
|
I think if EK started requirement Ab-initio from other neighboring GCC countries who is struggling to get jobs they my solve their problem, at least this people will be used to the way EK system is running..

Is it not easier just to merge the two finally? And get rid of the surplus fleet. Nice mix of short and long-haul AB and Boeing, and two bases eventually moving into one in 30 or so years. By then the two cities will be almost touching each other along the coast anyway... Abu Dubai. |
CH-Aviation news reporting Emirates neighbour is to second Pilots to EK for two years
|
So all pilots in UAE will be on 100 hours per month , share the love ! This is not a fix ! |
