Has TCAS left the sandpit? Was wondering about him during a discussion about him him, BA and the Sandpit.

His departure is somehow coincidentally conected to several court cases which are a reaction to his great stupidity.Those cases will cost the company a fortune. Looks like he was finally treated the same way he was treating his pilots for a very long time.

I know it is none of my business as an outsider, but seeing as he is gone, could you finally tell us who this TCAS is(not actual name), what his position was, why he was called TCAS, and a bit of his background? I have seen posts about this person for years.
And while at it, how about details of the court cases. |

One can only hope ! The curious thing is that he kept his post for years after relentlessly inflicting massive damage upon airline morale & the pilot corps in particular . Minimal oversight of such deliberate self serving manipulation ... or is there more to this than meets the eye , difficult to act alone after all ? Any specifics ? or would you rather not say . I understand if that's the case , just follow the money is a tried & tested tactic !

Tradition
Some deserving types are awarded the "title" TC followed by their surname or initials ... Tcas is of course ideal , given the aviation connotation . According to EK lore the title has to be earned it is not awarded lightly ! however , it is awarded more often than in the past .It was often deemed that, according to tradition , competent managers were not worthy of this ancient title , the origin of which has been lost in the sands of time ... see the Scolls thread .

Yes as much as he was a self serving weasel, you have to remember his greatest strength was to never argue upwards and to zealously deliver his boss's every wish

Approval to display "TC" in front of initials.
First bestowed upon the replacement for the highly regarded Graham Jenkins. The inaugural award of the coveted TC title went to TCK. This was as a result of a particular pilot being hung out to dry by said TCK in a local v expat fracas. The said pilot was overheard referring to the then HOFO as T--- C--- K-----. The title stuck and grew in popularity until it became a symbol of all that is wrong with EK management.
The next to be awarded a lesser, but no less appropriate title was the not that much loved EGT. This new title, albeit of lower status than the coveted TC descriptor, was thought to be highly accurate and loosely affectionate due to it's congruence with aviation parlance. Then, with the departure of TCK and the appointment of the aforementioned AS, and as a result of exemplary displays of contempt for his subordinates, AS was awarded the TC descriptor and anointed TCAS. The new HOFO enjoyed unparalleled status due to the combination of the previously described and highly coveted TC title combining with his initials, resulting in a very apt aviation acronym in TCAS. If sighted unexpectedly, the only appropriate response would be resolution advisory. |
The name TCAS followed him from his previous employer based at LHR. His reputation was well deserved and more than a few had offered to "improve" his looks after hours whilst he presided over things when he was back in Blighty.

We had a flight engineer in CX known as TCDP; but he was one of the boys. It had worked in reverse. He was referred-to as that by a manager after some misdemeanour and the name stuck!

JammedStab: A lot of things are going on behind the scenes not everything can be made public at this stage. But be assured it will hit the surface once the time is right and for sure more costa dwellers will be strongly affected. TCAS departure was just the beginning.Nobody from management is safe at the moment. Merry Christmas to all of them.

Was it TCAS himself responsible for factoring on ULRs? Was it TCAS responsible for ****e canning Jepps for LIDO? Was it TCAS responsible for the purge after MAN, picture taking on the ramp, MEL etc? If it wasn't he himself then he was doing the bidding of the upper echelons without a whimper.

I was told TCAS left very abruptly. Rumour was on the day of the briefing to senior Management by CM. Something is definitely going on. I can't wait to find out...

Ruserious: I wish I could give more evidence at the moment but please understand that the cases are still going on. But I promise that lots of popcorn and caramel will be necessary once the curtain falls.
Chances are high that these scandals will also hit the media very soon. Jumeirah James: your info seems to be very accurate. Hopefully AAR will be next on the fireing list together with CP and DCP Airbus, they are also involved in these serious issues and having created huge damage to the company and brand. What can be said for now is that TCAS and his Team (Fleet, Training, Clinic, HR) messed up big time several things and those scandals are now under investigation by the court. Stay tuned for more.. |

IMHO there is no value in investigating or prosecuting these characters. Worst case they will even play victim. EK doesn't need any more bad publicity.
Confiscating their bank accounts along with a public perp walk to an LCC to KBL/EBL with £50 in their pocket is the best way to deal with these characters. |

A comment from my blog: Just a small update from the costa club HQ – this week further cuts were made to HR as more staff in particular HR Recruitment team were let go. Some were given options off finding other positions within Ek but sadly there isn’t any – I mean recrtuiement team is going as there is no recruiting going on. There is a clear hiring freeze which they keep denying yet was even published in local papers back in July. The trimming will continue but the rest of the other parts of Ek don’t know when. With so much rumor and unreliable staff the new man who will make this airline great again is keeping quiet. Good for him – I just hope he goes after the managers that really need the cleaning and all their favouritism people that they keep. Those cheaters need to go |

Interesting, recruiting(cheerleaders) supposed to be the best performers in the company. I think they are waiting on peak season to be over to take any drastic measures.
There are always risks associated when a third world country investigates & prosecutes foreigners even if they are at fault. Media will spin these as false allegations and show trials. Foreign office will get involved in this mess. Clean and less traumatic way is to escort them out of country with empty pockets. Mafia Duo do this all the time with CCs and others, administer their own medicine. |

An update: So we start the weekend from Costa Club HQ HR Recruitment have been handed notices as mentioned above. It isn’t in a bad way – what they are saying is that jobs that are “not needed or required” is now being removed. The minions are getting removed. Some managers are getting removed too but most seems in the 20+ year range. The British mafia and their incompetent minions still remain – shocking – people who don’t have degrees in the job they hold, uneducated is the correct word still remain. Would not be surprised if they soon say that I have ridden a plane meaning I can also be a pilot! Anyways maybe Mr Meuller will soon figure out that too and he will make the change. But the HR Recruitment team that are leaving are given proper goodbyes – they are being given severance and asked to leave in dignity – that is nice But today another batch has also been asked to leave. Learning and development or popularly known as L&D – this includes a grade 10 and some minions. They have been given 2 months just to ensure they can recoup as much money in costa coffee to bring back into their coffers. Shockingly this removal and cleanup work is being handled by none other than the wife of a certain dsvp of a prominent department at EK called FO. We will simply say her initial is JD and she is senior grade 10 at L&D. And so the favoritism and nepotism continues So HR for the past few months. Now L&D – matter of time till the proper clean up commences. Sadly the creators of the problem will still stay on and the cycle will commence again. No fresh faces and no proper removal of the corrupt ones- as I read here above the cockroaches never die. One accident in a year. Another accident for the baby airline flydubai. Loss of customers everywhere. Empty flights yet not fixing the real cause. Oh did I mention that skywards team with hardly any customers to report to added numerous new grade 9s recently. The story gets funnier or will Mr Mueller actually fix this mess??????? Someone save this airline please else it’s going to make a great thesis for business majors to discuss the fall of Rome in the 21st century of businesses…… |
When I am no longer an employee of this company in the not too distant future, guess how many times I will come back to this board to see how my former employer is fairing? Zero. I won't start a blog. I won't keep coming back here like a fly to poo. The past will be in the past. If it already is your past...move the everliving f@#! on!!! How long have you been gone from here? It's not just AAR and his cronies. If there are a large number of redundancies, a minimum of half of them need to be locals. The Costa crowd are overwhelmingly wearing local dress whenever I've been in there. If there is a large scale reduction of people who actually do some work, any good will quickly come undone.
