Read his question.

'Are there any benefits being assigned to A380 as supposed to other fleets.'

Don't bull**** man. You answered it looking for the usual bickering to start with mines bigger and better than yours. You even used the plural 'fleets'. Now you try to backtrack but referring to the 330/340 in your latest post. Last time I looked, there were a lot of B777's flying around with Emirates written on the side!

There are + and - to all fleets, even the 330 if you don't want to fly 90 hours every month so be mature enough to accept that you didn't answer his question with the detail of information for which he sought.

I've read enough of your posts to realise you like the last word so feel free. For once, put your ego aside....please.

Absolutely superb at the moment.

Around 20-24 days off a month - a mix of operating and augmenting. This is 70 hours or 3-4 trips.

Up to 7 days off in a row bordered either side with rest days = 9.

It seems crewing aim to keep you in a single time zone each month so at the mo (for me) it's all Asia or all Europe or all N.America each month. Others may differ but from what I have seen, it's very similiar.

All A380s to North America?

Clark stated he would ultimately like to see A380s used on all North American flights (including long range LAX and SFO) with double dailys to New York. Does that still sound likely? Will the A380s get a performance/range boost to serve LAX and SFO?

Sooner or later. the proper "landing fees" (supplied in a brown baggy) will be arranged, and the Dugong will be serving "incredible India", and then see which fleet is "best":{:{

It would make sense that India would progress from the 330 to the 777 and then the 380 , so when do you think all of India will be 777 before going 380?

For those who don't care about the debate of Airbus v Boeing etc and want to fly an A380 for Emirates.

The requirement is (if it hasn't been covered already)

3000hrs Fly by Wire Airbus time. Pre-selection to commence shortly.

Source.

Recruitment roadshow.

Flyer.

Forgot to add.

As Emirates is such a dynamic company, their recruitment is generally to fill whatever seat is available when they offer you the job.

They can stream when required. Just as they are now with the 380.

So I suspect for those of us a few years off.....we may still get a shot at the 380 without Airbus time!!

EK-Direct Entry F/O on 380 ?

Does any one have good info on when are they start to call the "shortlisted", or if they started already?

Thanks in advance!!

Courses start in April. Expect a few and small classes in the beginning as a prof of concept. The A330 A340 are going so the only way is direct entry FOs. I believe you need a few thousand FBW airbus hours.
Goos luck

Hey Don,

Just to add some extra info to what you said. I know of at least two people who have already started 380 courses as DEFO so I'm not sure the guys in April are the first. Both of them had in excess of 3000 Airbus (320) time and a fair bit more total.

Looks like DEFO 380 is very much a go'er at the moment. Remains to be seen how many guys they have that match that criteria and if they lower at any stage to meet demands. Wishing i'd converted sooner now!!

'cracked up' - I get it! It also has fractured SOPs and is quite often flown by pilots who are sport fissure-men. Some of them are a bit crazed.

millerscourt 3rd Mar 2013 15:14

Dropp

Not referring to White Knight by any chance are you?:D
