Any info on the length of time it takes from Application Received till Interview call?

SOPS 14th Jul 2014 17:25

How long is a piece of string?

TransitCheck 15th Jul 2014 06:47

long enough for you to apply and get hired somewhere else

Eric_1985 24th Jul 2014 08:08

Does anyone have information about the type of acft/SIM (A330/380 or B777) they use nowadays, especially for someone with airbus background applying for airbus position?

I received some conflicting information about it, so I'm confused what to prepare for.

1 week for me.

DO not do it.

Eric, Please, understand what you are stepping into. EK is an 8 days off a month job on the 330. Flying through the back side of the clock 5-10 days a month. This job will fatigue and age you like none other out there. You will lose years off your life. You really really need to rethink it mate.

120 feet,

Are you Iver? Or just someone else that doesn't work at EK who hands out advice as though you did work there?

The don

Likeitis 29th Jul 2014 19:09

If I received the above schedule it would be by far the best schedule I ever had at EK in the last 3+ years. The schedules at EK are abhorrent. Best way to start out on a good foot with the company after joining EK is to remove the word no from your vocabulary because if you use it as I do with regularity, people will look at you as if you have a third eye.:ugh::ugh::ugh:

120feet 31st Jul 2014 19:26

Yes

Toplux,
Yes, they may invite you for an interview if you are currently just shy of the 2500. But I would ask donpiz as he appears to be better informed.

FMSPEED 2nd Aug 2014 10:49

So the rumor about Emirates hiring people with jet 30 tons is true ? are they accepting E175, E190 time ?

thanks

flyer19832007 2nd Aug 2014 14:01

FMSPEED, few of my friends with 195/175 time have been called recently, others haven't, hit or miss I guess!

Just gone to update my application again....just shy of 4000TT and they have taken away the Edit function again....unless it's just my browser! :}

SOPS 2nd Aug 2014 17:16

So let me get this correct...we are are now accepting EJet pilots.

BigGeordie 3rd Aug 2014 09:31

I believe EK is recruiting onto the A330 again and as you would have to be mad or desperate to join that fleet they will take any experience level.

Calmcavok 3rd Aug 2014 15:18

So let me get this correct...we are are now accepting EJet pilots.
...and have done for a long time...

thatwasclose 3rd Aug 2014 16:23

Only the big ones

Calmcavok 3rd Aug 2014 17:39

Semantics, but "EJet" refers to the 170-195. "ERJ" is the designation for the 135-145.

Several were hired direct from the 145 in 2007/8. They seem to be doing ok.

thatwasclose 9th Aug 2014 10:44

Just say you have an offer but have not signed anything as this is the job you want. A common question is have you applied to Qatar or the other one. Just say yes

alidkamel738 13th Aug 2014 01:14

Hi there :)
I was checking my application status with emirates and it has been changed from "application under review" to "completed"
Does anyone knws what it means?

Cheers!

scary to hear that the A330 job at EK is so demanding, "120feet". Do you maybe know the chances to continue to A380 fleet after a few months? (when I exceed 3000hrs on type)

I heared that A330hrs don't count for A380 cpt upgrade hrs, is that true?

And that roster on previous page, is that A330? At first glance it doesn't look that bad. 8 days off in a row and ok layovers.
