slackbladder, what's up??? You have a hard time taking the free advice?? As per your post in the The Caribbean and Latin America forum, it seemed pretty obvious where to direct your attention? So, just to make sure, I went back and checked, and yep, there they were, the Dash 8 job that I thought I saw (1 Capt. / 1 FO). I also referenced another job site, and again, there they were, 2 more positions. What more do you need????

Followed your advise, many thanks.

Went to the FI website and have contacted the Agency. I thought It might be worth making a general post in this forum as well to see if there was anybody else who might have heard of anything.

The last two are kind of old, but worth a look see regardless.

That'll be a Kilkenny. (You don't need a link for them, do you?? )

Joe,

Mate, thanks so much.

I was told by my dear old mum never to talk to strange people hanging around in vans down by the river but I will ignore the advise of my mother this time

The Kilkenny is yours. Many thanks.

Understand (from people who are involved) that A-net recently did the interviews and sim evals and that people are now into the medical screening (a two day event involving tread mills, etc.)

I understand that the interviews were not for the faint of heart-- with the Chief Pilot (ex-Boeing 747) and others doing the interview. One of the criteria was-- how well do you know Japanese social customs and how well would you blend into life in Japan? One of the interviewees came from as far as Sakhalin (to Toronto). His complex travel plans caused him a delay in Miami and he went straight from the airport to the FlightSafety facility. He was 20 minutes late and the interviewers were not at all impressed. I am told that he knew pretty much right away that he had blown it.

They provided a quick lesson in the SOP's and the Q400, and then they wanted to see how well you could fly the sim following them. For someone coming off a -100,-200 or -300, I imagine it would have been a daunting experience.

Next step will be about 4 months of ground school and the Japanese ATPL.

It's Caribbean Star, however, they are unable to accept anyone directly unless you are a national of the Caribbean. So off you go through the Storm Aviation program-- perhaps not the fairest selection program.

Thanks one and all for your responses. I have looked into all of your suggestions but unfortunately not alot has come of them. Not enough hours

Anyway once again thanks.

I think I am going to go to Africa and try and find a Caravan to fly.
