Qatar Airways - Re- Recruitment

Anyone able to confirm whether former QR CSD George DeSilva is rejoining QR as CSD, or in another role?

Any info from you reliable QR sources out here would be greatly appreciated.

Hope he is. Many will be very happy to see George return to QR, especially after the way he was treated by a certain Pakistani fellow! Is the Pakistani CSD still there flying and getting away with hell?

Good lad George is!

The other used to be a good ladin my eyes but some strange things went on prior to the incident mentioned!

Don't you reply to your PM anymore!?

A300 man...I apologise profusely!

However, I did not disclose any identity...only initials!

Also, I had been, albeit wrongly, informed by someone as regards your identity. I gather from your reaction it is not true...

Once again sorry!

Thanks K for your honesty and all that. I know the guy that you refered to in the said post. Not me but another, who is a nice guy and neither deserves the speculation.

As for George, the best CSD that Qatar Airways ever had!!!! Just look at all the inaugurals that he did. Perefct supervisor and liked by all the crew. Glad to hear that he's coming back to QR. When will he return and what position will it be. CSD? I hope so!!

Yep, I remember a DAC layover I did with George. Perfect sleep management....

Arr early morning slept a couple of hours then sat by the pool and had lunch with a few Tuborgs, then in bed by about 1800 and slept right through until wake up.

We had a such a laugh watching the less experienced crew all bleary eyed in the morning because they had slept all day and were awake all night!

I hope he is back as CSD as the good ones are few and far between these days!

As for my honesty well, I made a mistake, simple as that and i agree with you...less speculation the better.

Tried to send you PM but I don't think it got to you.

Thanks.

Hi JB,

what I meant was,
George was one of the best CSD' we (QR) had and lost due to the usual unfairness and bad judgment.(thanks to SK-the SNAKE)

Unconfirmed news states that George is now working for an airline in the fareast.

George knew his job to the letter and he was an allrounder.we observed him onboard and learnt lots, and liked by all.(Refer to A300 mans comments) George resigned and QR rerecruited the pakistani man who made his life a living hell.there is nothing the crew/QR has to gain from this pakistani man, instead he should be sent to training school and tought the basics.he should also stop reading news pappers during work and leave the girls alone.

So whatever the Airline George now works for is the winner
WE (QR) are the absolute loosers !

It's strange to have a thread written about a specific individual. For your info Hong Kong, I was a trainer at QR and I knew George very well. Yes, he was good and very methodical, but by no means the best. He did have his faults - including thinking that he was faultless and beyond correction.

In fact, the other person that you are referring to (Pakistani national) is also an excellent supervisor.

Which airline is George now working with, as I would like to get in touch with him.

A300Man - nice to see you are still around. Please get in touch and hope that you are well.

Hello

Hi JB

Yes - am still around and alive! How are you doing? I am quite surprised to see that you are getting embroiled in these things.

I know both of the guys that are being referred to above. One if them is excellent in all respects. The other is not! Enough said.

On another note, what is happening at EK? I am amazed at how poor the customer service has become at EK. Aren't you training them well?

Flew recently on several other carriers who now perfom far better than EK. (including QR - who are still the best, in my opinion!)

.

Hi jennie,

Thanks for your reply

Appriciate your comments/views

Just because mr KHI says "yes sir/no sir" to anything and everything and try to show the "nice guy" immage, doesnt mean he is a good CSD.

And just because George feels "faultless" ( As you say) doesnt mean he is beyond correction. even if he indeed feels so I wont blame him,coz he was good and methodical on the job ( As you too say)

As for George' contacts, I shall send you his e-mail address, found in his "good bye note"

As for his current airline of employment : Unconfirmed ! therefore no comments.

Regards.

HK

I agree with you totally!

Many moons ago( cue zimmer frame! ) on a B727 flight I put Mr KHI in charge of economy. A certain lady who has since been sacked took the **** out of him in the back, and when I intervened the reply was " but she'll go to the CEO "....

I explained that if he wanted to be a supervisor he should exercise his skills etc etc, but he found this very difficult! The FA in question was istting in a PAX seat eating her meal beside pax chatting away as if on holiday and he said nothing!

George, wherever you are...God Bless and good luck!

JB: yes he came round a bit as a supervisor, but TOO TOO nice!

Cheers

Hi jennie,

Firstly, let me tell u you dont know what u are talking about.

I am certain that u neither worked for QR nor EK.

You probably only READ,HEAR, & TALK about air lines, and u do not have the perfect info about the "inside stuff" we write about!

Two people, the training maneger (MT) and the Instructor (SW) you talked about, thru (PM),actualy resinged from QR and joined EK.and the 11 or so crew, either were terminated, resinged, or jumpedship and joined EK.1 female crew member joined Ek due to sexual harrasment by the top.(News for u,isnt it?)

As you mentioned, SW was never an instructor at QR, but was in charge of cabin svcs training.(the position "head of training" was not created at the time)and SW is not an instructor at EK but a CCS!

So before u write next time and pretend u know all, please get the FACTS right!

Question Curent numbers?

Following all the talks here, can anyone enlighted number of cabin crew QR currently has and is the number of those who resign stil as high as it was some month ago last year or has the situation changed???

Any comments will be highly appreciated!

Yes, also... has anyone heard of any recent newbies joining QR?

How intense is their cabin crew recruitment currently?

Dispatchguy,

Follow this topic in the comming days,I will be able to give accurate details in numbers.

With regards to "QR resignations",...yes they still "come come" and "go go go go" as before.

more of the above is expected in comming summer, plus the terminations.

Regards
HKG.
