380 pay
Why is the a380 pay so low in the ME compared to other carriers? Flying the number of pax you would expect to be far higher. Discuss…

Ahhh, the stupidity of pay by aircraft size... If you fly four sectors in 10 hours with an A321 with 200 seats you ship more pax than a 380 does on a normal flight. And, it might be much more revenue as well depending on the routes.

1000 hours flying 500-600+ pax on the 380 vs 1000 hours flying a couple of dozen on the emirates triple 7.

380; lax and back 4 days 2 sectors a 500. = 1000pax
321: 4 days each 4 sectors a 200 = 3200pax
on 380 you do 8-10 sectors in a month not all of them being operating - on 321 that’s not even 1 week
321 is 8 times more take off and landings
or not to speak of potential amount of low vis and cold wx ops where the 321 is out beating the 380 by far
In terms of bad weather the 321 can in one week be an entire 380 career
last but not least on a widebody ac u got 1 hour flight prep in the flight deck - 321 turn around of max 30-45 min

in this case it makes sense as not the hours count it’s the numbers of flight

I wouldn't know the latest EK figures but typically a low cost short haul operator would look at about 7.5 crews per aircraft and a legacy A380 carrier would probably be at least 11 crews per aircraft. My information/opinion may be out of date.

Short haul low cost you mean about 5 crews

Interesting debate. I would argue it's even more complicated, since a hub needs short haul to fill the 380 up and a lot of passengers hence take two trips, maybe one long-haul and then a connection flight, all for one price.

But in the DXB “Heavies” and even “Supers” sometimes perform many of “short haul” flights.
