All true, and has not changed much since 2019 (pre-covid). Here is what you may expect to find:

Housing: 170.000 per year will get you a decent flat in the first year. Landlords know very well, however, that you won't want to move out again after just one year, when you've spent lots of time and money making yourself comfortable in your new home. The landlord usually raises the annual rent after one year, and then every year after that. There is no protection against that scheme. You'll probably move out after three or four years, when you've had enough of it, and start again under a new address. He will then keep half of the safety deposit, for "damages and renovations". If you add it all up, besides having your furniture worn, you'll top up the housing allowance by a few thousand AED every year from your salary.

Company accommodation: there is none available. They used to have some flats many years ago, but these were eventually all needed for cabin crew. The company nowadays still has some flats and villas available which you can rent (they are not owned by the company, only mediated), but these are very expensive and very luxurious, with rents of 240.000 and up (I have seen villas go for 350.000), and your allowance won't pay for them by far. Usually, only people from higher management live in these premises. But, yeah, the company can argue that it's also available to you, if you like.

Bear in mind, that on top of your rent still comes a mandatory municipality fee of 5%, as well as maintenance costs.

Education Allowance: Prices for schools vary. Nursery (or pre-school) is NOT covered, and costs as much as a primary school. So if you have kids between 2 and 5 years old, depending on where and on how many days per week, you may expect to pay 25 to 55 thousand per year for their pre-school. On average, you'll pay 5.000 to 15.000 per year on top of the schooling allowance, for average International Schools.

Income Protection: BS!

Staff Travel: yes, available, in all honesty this is very good.

Medical insurance: you get a very cheap plan. Check-ups are not covered, so a routine visit to the dentist or the urologist is your own problem. Some hospitals and many private clinics in Abu Dhabi are not covered. If you go for treatment abroad, the insurance company deducts 20% (not for emergency treatment, but if you prefer to visit a doctor in your home country, 20% of the bill is up to you - possibly more, on a case-by-case basis, and you may have to wait several months for your reimbursement). All medication from the pharmacy is covered by 80% only. Rehab is not covered. Information will be exchanged between the insurance and EY's medical department even without your consent.
With that said: there are very good and affordable doctors and clinics available in Abu Dhabi that accept your insurance card. But you will always end up paying for something. If you or someone in your family catch something serious, quite frankly, you're in trouble.

End of service benefits: yes.

Accident and Life Insurance: yes.

With the whole package added up: if you're single, go and enjoy yourself! With a family of 2 kids, it's hard making ends meet. If you have more than two children, you will have a realyl tough struggle.
