Sounds like the sort that one day, is going to say or do the wrong thing to an Aussie or Kiwi guy in a bar and get his arse handed to him... I hope that big Maori bouncer is still at the door of DDs and gave him a thump on his way out...

Interesting to see that the local FO that was arrested in Millbrae close to SFO in August 2019 for being intoxicated in public, is no longer employed by EK.

Perhaps law enforcement getting involved is a step too far, regardless of where one is from?

These local UAE pilots should be featured by name on every police noticeboard at every airport that EK operates to. This would stop the guilty and force EK to educate their locals.

At present, the bad ones ensure that Rostering never sends them back to the country of their crimes.

This kind of stuff is not surprising in the least, but is very wrong. It should be punished.

Received info that UAE Bilot Cabtain Khalid AL Glassya is on a trip to AKL next week. Let us hope the authorities will have him in for tea and biscuits and a chat...

Dirigible,

You'd be an idiot if you doubt what lengths some people will go to effect revenge, moral high ground or otherwise. As a matter of fact in the West, unwelcome sexual advances by a male toward a female can very easily lead to an arrest and charges of sexual assault are very broad and encompassing against the perpetrator. In most cases, the charges being laid are by the police, not the victim.

It will be pretty certain that the NZ police will be very interested in questioning this individual should he find himself in that country in the future.

Thats the world we live in and its a very certain possibility.

Maybe a "heads up" call to the NZPD is warranted? Just in case they would like to engage in an exchange of dialogue.

My guess is a big $ payoff to the girl. Hopefully the criminal case still proceeds but if the victim refuses to testify it will hamper things. Especially if she back home, any idea of the nationality of the poor girl?

If there is an open case with NZPD he should be held at customs. I'm surprised he is operating ,indicates EK nor him are aware of any open police file or hush $$$. ( the ME way)

This all seems a bit nebulous. Aussie cc gets glassed in the face and badly hurt . Alleged
perpetrator, a local EK captain, returns to the UAE without being held on any charge and is supposedly scheduled to operate again to AKL

I would suggest that if a complaint had been made at the time the police would have held the perpetrator on a charge of, at the very least, serious assault if not gbh

I am not denying this happened, far from it , but there are some curious aspects to the whole story.

You would think the Bar Staff would call an ambulance and the police when the incident occurred!

Yes I agree, wouldn’t the A and E dept at the hospital.be obliged to inform the police ? a victim interview would occur and medical evidence collected incl photographs and medical staff statements.

There might have been witnesses to the event,
if so did they say and do nothing ?
Lots of loose ends at the moment ... perhaps a case is being built by the authorities it all just seems a bit vague.

Hi All, I am receiving conflicting information about whether matey is on or off the roster. White Knight (as above) and a PM said he is off the roster. Another mate in DXB says he is due to AKL in a week or so. Ill revert when I have checked up. I fully agree with Jack D, too. Cheers

Fatbus,

Let's hope they pinch him using the announced 'quarantine' as a reason then get him on the assault charge. If the victim is Aussie I believe it is possible to hit him with charge paperwork in an AUstralian port as well? Does NZ have an agreement to extradite people on charges with us? If so that may be another avenue... ping him when he thinks he's safe in Oz...

Not so sure he's going to AKL anytime soon.

Standby for some major roster changes in the coming days...
