Prohibited Discussion

The airline in question has just been named by Richard Quest on CNN as "one with an uncertain future, as we all know".

Is the enforced secrecy around ....... on this website really required when mainstream mass media are clear to refer to the same airline with impunity?

Many employees of that company posting on this website were traced and given termination notices or warnings through legal channels is what I recall, so basically this site is protecting employees jobs by not encouraging discussions on here, also CNN and other channels and newspapers dont fall in the same category and can pay the millions in lawyers fee if taken to court.

So whatt about the rest of the aviation community and the (six billion) other people who don't work for you know who and don't live in the UAE then ?

If you're at risk then don't post, but there's no reason why others could not surely ?

Next thing you'll be suggesting is that all alcohol sales across the world are banned to prevent pilots from drinking too much ?

then you do not recall correctly...those employees have never been fired ,just called to the office for tea and cookies.Stop threaten people here ".The Visionary"screwed up and it was certainly not because of some employees correctly questioning and criticizing him....look what happen to Gulf Air in the past and you will have the exact scenario few years later happening with the unmentionable.Emirates has never censored its employees who are today still gossiping about the company, why did Jimmy feel the need of doing it??You answer

Most of the key players who ran the airline when this restriction was imposed have left now.
I really think the powers that be wouldn’t give two hoots now. Hogan was THE problem.

Well, EK management got this site blocked on all the Telco's in the UAE as some kind of Haram thing equivalent to pornography, so there's that...

as I mentioned previously, some of the posts regarding this airline were extremely out of order, and directed at specific individuals, not the company.

More likely protecting themselves from legal action. Was there at the time and PPRune caved to the pressure.

EY has been taking GF guys from when they first started. Its sad to see an airline bury itself like EY has. Even more upsetting the way they are handling the people involved.
IRONBUTT: the posts were not nice that is for sure. It really did show how when living in the ME you have to be aware you are not home. Regardless how glitzy it all looks it is very much like the wizard of OZ and the man behind the screen if u get me
