FAA AME-- Dubai

Anyone have recent experience with any of the following AME's in Dubai?
Looking to get a FAA Class I (special issuance)

1. Ralph Joyce
2. Rajkumar Nair
3. Carole Chidiac
4. Rachel Hayek

I have to say that the third name on your list is a nightmare - don't go anywhere near her. I was 'grounded' some time ago and despite a very eminent doctor saying that I should get back flying immediately, she wanted to send me to New Zealand, until she was over-ridden. Don't go anywhere near her. As for the others, I cannot comment.

I've used Dr. Joyce several times and recommend him. He's friendly and seems sensible.

I use Dr Ralph Joyce for my EASA medicals and it was a pleasant (as pleasant as medicals can be) and very straight forward.

Thanks. Looks like #1 or #2. I was a big Dr. Akel fan. Too bad he retired.

Update. Thumps Up for Dr. Ralph Joyce at GMC Clinic. FAA Class I was done in 1 1/2 hrs.
The time is mainly because of the testing (eye, ECG etc) that is done before seeing him.
Extremely professional and non-invasive if you know what I mean!
Cost was AED 960.

Can anyone remember if they use the standard FAA eye chart for the test?
