EK Captain Accomodation

Hey everyone, I am new in here, Planning to join EK as a Captain for the A380.

I wanted to know where is the Captain Accommodation located? I know for new first officers they are proving small villas at Meydan Heights, but from what I heard they are too cramped up.

So where is the current Accommodation for Captains? Have all the FO's been shifted to meydan heights?

I am married with no kids, so I will be given a Villa or an Apartment?

My Dear Boy,

Goodness you made me laugh!!

Please contact the wonderful and oh so helpful EK Accommodation Department. There is a lovely man called Hussein there.

He will give you a guided tour. Personally.

You will fit right in at EK.

In your spare time, perhaps you should search for some EK threads.

Good luck Amigo. You will need it

I did read the other threads and I know many people have a problem with the company.

My whole family is shifting to Dubai, but I would want to live in a separate house with my wife, thats why I asked about the location of the accommodation.

Nothing is confirmed for me, I am looking for other options also.

Ok guys, how about stop being ironic and try to help the other?

What's it so bad about EK accomodations? Bugs? Houses tumbling? Electrical problems? Leaks?

I'm applying for a F/O position. Married, 1 (wonderful) kid. I'd like to know those problems and why it is so bad to live there (I'm south american - Brazil. What do I have for today? Corruption, violence, 15% inflation, airlines going bankrupt and lately the freightning Zica Virus).

How about reading the threads about EK Accommodation?

Perhaps you guys should be asking EK directly? Their response (or lack of) might explain the whole mentality and why sooo many people are leaving and continue to leave at a startling rate and why the requirements have been so drastically reduced.

You guys want to bring your family to Dubai yet seem poorly prepared re schooling and housing. Do your homework.

Open your eyes!

Hey Jose, from what I heard and Read over here, well EK is not what it used to be before.

People who joined many years ago got the luxuries but as the years passed, it basically went from good to bad.

Pilots from other countries like you and me, we don't get accommodations or even housing allowance, we have to go to the airport on our own, but in EK they you are chauffeured to the airport.

I do agree that there are negative sides also, but I guess people get home sick after a while?

For First Officers they provide House Accommodation at Meydan Heights, but people have said its too cramped and very small compared to their previous accommodations. You can opt out of it and the company will pay you a specific amount per year. But once you opt you cannot go back to their accommodation.

IF I join, I will be in a new country, even though I have been to Dubai many times before, but still I would want to stay at their accommodation for at least 1 year or so, thats why I wanted to know the exact location, but well no one seems to help out here.

According to the latest, and very recent, fleet forum meeting, there were to be precisely zero DEC's on A380.

I suspect a troll or WUM.

Bannanas, I have not quit my current job, I said I am Planning to join. I am looking for other airlines also, not just EK.

I have not applied at EK, nor I have talked to anybody there.

Just wanted to know about the Accommodation, its a simple question, god knows why some of you take it in to another direction.

Ok I'll try to help here..
Slash, the villas at Meydan are for 777 Captains.
If you are joining as 380 DEC, you are entitled for a 5 bed Villa over the Palm.
Alternatively, you may ask to opt out of Company Accommodation, in which case you will be given a generous 450.000dhs allowance.

Hope it helps.

Looking forward to fly with you..

MS

Thanks for your reply MS, I am currently flying the A340, IF I join, then most prob. they will place me on the A380 rather than 777, but well its up to them.

From what I read on the other threads, the allowance for captains is 193k.

I just asked a normal question and you guys are just joking around.

And as I have seen many complaining about EK over here, I doubt they would give me a villa on the palm island.

Slash my friend.

You will not join directly on the A380 as Captain. Perhaps the 777 or 330. Keep in mind the failure rate during recruitment is high so I wouldn't assume you'll get the job.

Company accommodation is in Meydan. Either Heights or the newer South.

It's not ideal and many are currently opting for the allowance to live out.

I can't stand the evasive answers anymore...

Slash, as a captain, you are practically no different from an FO when it comes to accommodation...you would be offered Meyday Heights (though this will be full soon)or Meydan South. Captains get a bit more allowance (cash) to find their own accommodation, if they wish, than FO's.

We're not doing DEC's on the 380. It will happen, but not yet, I believe.

As suggested: do the reading before asking lots of questions - there are lots of answers around here already.

Slash, you're being ridiculed because your post is either a joke or very ignorant.
EK do not employ Captains on the A380, nor on the A340 (because Emirates don't have A340s).
If you were a sincere poster we'd probably give you the answer that new Captains are being accommodated at Meydan Heights or Meydan South.

4x343s still on the property. No more DECs on Airbus . Slash I think you might be too late . Medan heights should be full now , Medan south will have 1500 , only @75 in there now with @ 350 coming in the next 6 months.

.....(because Emirates don't have A340s).

We don't? I'll have to ask what those extra two engines are for next time I'm starting them.

Foolish question, as you should know, what we actually have is the rare 330JAYTO model, in order to get safely out of KBL!!
