EASA from IAA or CAA??

Hi guys,
I have a UK JAA expired license. Was planning on renewing to EASA. Am I best to just renew via the CAA or convert to the IAA?? Not sure what the benefits are apart from I can put a EK rating on the IAA license. Any advise gratefully received.

Cheers

I think it will need to be current before the change of state. I went from CAA to IAA as they are a pleasure to deal with, and as you say, the type ratings will transfer to the IAA with a restriction. It keeps the EASA licence current at each sim. Just done a recurrent sim, the IAA have issued a new page with another years validity for no cost.
