72:40 hrs
2 Recurrent Sims (6 hrs each = 12 hrs not paid)
72:40 +12 = 84:40
4 vac days (used to be worth 3 hrs? Just guessing average, that perk was buried years ago.. so add another 12 hrs)
84:40 +12 = 96:40
I only bid days off b4 my vacation and was awarded them only to have an India flight manually inserted in the middle.
So typical EK style: no credit for sim or Vac. And days off b4 vac always eroded manually.
Not paid OT at 78 hrs as agreed in joining contract.
Paid for 72:40 earned 96:40, lost 18:20 OT this month.

Nothing new in the EK posts what I'm saying.. this has been the normal practice of the Co for years now. Leaving.
Just shedding light. ..

Has anyone approached management about a job share agreement where 2 persons could share 1 roster and the same villa and 3 weeks leave each per year ,and work month on month off and commute home for the month off.
Would make life easier for the older folk at 90 hrs a month.

Yes the above idea has been suggested, and flatly refused by management.

If you are doing recurrent sim you forgot to add the 8 hrs of RGTS.

Essentially coming in for the three days of PPC is working on days off for free.

Preposterous in light of global standards.

I believe the credit for Vacay days used to be 2.5hrs - open to correction.

When you see what Delta is about to give its guys on the new TA - the idea of being completely shafted this year (again) takes on a whole new dimension.

fliion, that is exactly right, your statement...."global standards". The product EK puts out is beyond global standards, the aircraft for the most part are above global standards, maintence, IMHO, is above global standards and the service and c.c. overall is above global standards (when compared to many legacy carriers). BUT their terms and conditions and overall treatment of staff is well below global standards. If "they" want to compare the airline to majors around the world, then they fall way short of being a leader with regard to our pay and overall working conditions.

Gulf Air ver. 2.0. Has been said before. They really don't get it. Their myopic view of our pay, hours, etc. is unbelievable.

Dreamer....

You're just not productive enough! At this airline, you're considered stealing from the company by only working your 73 per month.

Thus the exodus at EK...

No sub 90 apart from leave month in a year. 10 days leave a few months ago and did 58 hrs that month.
The door is open and this horse is bolting just as soon as I obtain and pass an interview elsewhere.

Low Cost Airline Company in Turkey
B737NG RHS
88 hours of flight 165 hours duty time excluding deadheads.
9 days off and 6 of them are starting at 02:00am local time and after the off day flying starts at 04:00 local time. So an off day doesn't include any rest of the previous flight.
45 legs excluding deadheads.

This thread was started as away of tracking the number of hours flown by Ek pilots and only Ek pilots.
Other airlines are happy to start their own thread on the same topic.

( it is interesting to see where the industry is heading though and thank you for your well intentioned contribution to this particular thread )
